About Side
Side is a historic peninsula town within the Manavgat district of Antalya. Once an important ancient port city, Side today combines its rich historical heritage with modern tourism. The Temple of Apollo, perched iconically on the waterfront, has become the symbol of Side. The Side Ancient Theatre, with a capacity of 15,000 spectators, is the largest ancient theatre in the region. The Side Museum houses an impressive collection of Roman-era artefacts. Nearby Kumkoy and Sorgun beaches are renowned for their crystal-clear waters and fine sand. Quality hotels such as Barut Hemera, Voyage Sorgun Select, Sensimar Side Resort, and TUI MAGIC LIFE Manavgat are located in the area. The Manavgat Waterfall, just 3 km away, is a must-visit for nature lovers.
Side Peninsula and Local Transfer Details
Side's historic peninsula has narrow streets and is largely closed to vehicle traffic. Your transfer goes as far as the car park at the peninsula entrance; from there it is a short walk of a few minutes to your hotel or guesthouse. Large resort hotels in Kumkoy and Sorgun, however, allow direct door-to-door drop-off and are reached within 5 minutes after leaving the D-400. Manavgat Waterfall is only 3 km from central Side — a brief detour on the transfer route lets you stop there if you add a note to your booking. For evening strolls around the Ancient Theatre and Temple of Apollo, drop-off is again at the peninsula entrance.
