Most visitors to Okurcalar spend the bulk of their time within their resort, but venturing out is well worthwhile. The aqua park zone near Okurcalar is brilliant for families -- massive water slides and splash pools that keep children entertained for hours, all reachable by a short transfer from your hotel. For a change of pace, Dim River picnic grounds offer a genuinely Turkish experience: wooden platforms over the river where you sit with your feet dangling above the cool water, drinking tea and eating freshly grilled trout. A private transfer from Okurcalar to Dim River takes roughly 30 minutes and is one of the best day trips in the area.
The Okurcalar Holiday Experience
What sets Okurcalar apart is how well it caters to large families and groups. It is not unusual for extended families of 10 to 15 people to holiday here together, and the resorts are built to accommodate exactly that. The challenge, of course, is getting everyone from the airport to the hotel in one piece. Transferva's minibus options seat up to 14 passengers with all luggage, child seats arranged in advance, and a driver who knows exactly which entrance to use at each resort. Beyond the hotels, Okurcalar's small town centre has local shops and restaurants if you fancy a wander. Alanya centre is about 35 km away and makes for a pleasant day trip by private transfer.
Transfer Tips for Okurcalar
The drive from Antalya Airport takes 80 to 100 minutes via the D400. As this is one of the longer airport transfers on the coast, vehicle comfort matters -- particularly if you are travelling with young children.
