Side Area Transfer Guide
Side occupies a small peninsula on the Antalya coast, but the wider Side holiday zone fans out across several distinct neighbourhoods: Kumkoy, Sorgun, Evrenseki, Colakli and Titreyengol. Each area has its own character, and moving between them — or reaching them from further afield — is where smart transfer planning pays off. This guide explains every option for getting to, from and around the Side region.
Where Is Side and How Do You Get There?
The Side peninsula sits 75 km east of Antalya city centre. Beyond Antalya Airport, you can reach Side by road from Antalya city, from Alanya to the east, from Konya inland and even from the Cappadocia region. From Antalya centre the D-400 brings you to Side in roughly one hour ten minutes. Guests coming from Alanya travel 65 km westward. Visitors from Konya use the Konya-Antalya motorway and arrive in about 3.5 hours. Within the Side zone, the sub-areas are close together: Kumkoy is immediately north of the peninsula, Sorgun 3 km east, Evrenseki and Colakli 5 to 10 km further east. These short gaps make inter-zone transfers quick and affordable.
The Side Holiday Experience
The Side peninsula itself is a car-free cobblestone zone — one of Turkey's most atmospheric pedestrian areas. Walking to the tip of the peninsula takes about 15 minutes and the sunset views are hard to beat. Boat trips are a staple of a Side holiday; daily cruises depart from Side harbour visiting secluded coves and swimming stops, and getting a transfer to the harbour is a common request. Every Monday, the Manavgat Covered Market sets up with local produce, spices, textiles and handicrafts — just 4 km from Side, a quick transfer gets you there. Sorgun stands out for its pine-backed beaches and tranquil atmosphere, while Kumkoy offers livelier evenings with beach bars and late-night dining. Evrenseki and Colakli are home to large family-oriented resort hotels. Around Titreyengol lake you can enjoy nature walks and birdwatching in a quieter setting.
Transfer Options and Practical Tips
When planning a Side transfer, knowing your exact sub-zone matters. Boutique hotels on the peninsula itself sit in the pedestrianised old town, so vehicles drop you at the nearest access point and you walk the final stretch. Hotels in Kumkoy and Sorgun receive full door-to-door service. You can arrange short transfers to Side harbour for boat trips, to the Manavgat market area on Mondays, or longer inter-resort transfers to Alanya or Belek for day trips. Short-hop transfers within the zone work well in an economy sedan, while airport runs for groups of four or more are best in a minivan. During summer, especially on Sundays when charter flights cluster, booking early secures your preferred time slot.
